I am a helpdesk zen master, muckin' around with a lot of miscellanous tech since 1998. I work at a web hosting company, mostly doing linux system admin and help desk work.
Check out my 'interactive business card'-site at macgillavry.name. I also do LinkedIn. This is a quasi-personal website, with general inanity and rants. My quasi-professional website can be found at tremata.nl.
This is me:
- LAMP administration and coding
- Linux, Apache, PHP and MySQL most of the time.
- Secondary languages jQuery, XML, XPath, Xquery and the like.
- SVN for SCM.
- Experience with FreeBSD, Postfix, Amavisd, maia-mailguard, Cacti, Backuppc, Plesk clusters.
- Extensive experience with Bind9, Nagios3 (& integration), Edge mailservers.
- CMSses, e-commerce and webdevelopment
- I do a lot of work with Drupal.
- I like wiki's, have implemented and administrated several, and use them day-to-day as collaborative tools. My wiki of choice is Mediawiki.
- Experience with most mainstream OSS server products: SugarCRM, phpBB, Magento, osCommerce derivatives, etc.
- Will testdrive nearly any new, shiny, OSS software.
- Linux and OSS
- Ubuntu Server for Shiny Servers
- Debian Stable / Ubuntu LTS for production servers
- Kubuntu for desktops and laptops
- Almost exclusively use OSS desktop/server software. It just is better.
At the moment I'm working a day-job as a helpdesk/linux admin lackey and enjoying life. As per my contract i'm not accepting any work right now.
